Activities

Early 1999 One Outdoors entered the tourism sector operating guided day and multi-day minibus tours of the South Island.

Later that year we commenced 'One Night Outdoors', a guided overnight hike in Arthurs Pass National Park. This activity encompassed the iconic Avalanche Peak climb.
This was our flagship activity and continued until 2007.

During this period we formed a strong relationship with a Christchurch English Language School, and together we developed a number of weekend and after-school activities. Weekends at our backpackers 'The Sanctuary' at Arthurs Pass are popular, as are our weekend tours to the West Coast where we range from the seal colonies of Tauranga Bay in the North, to the Franz Josef Glacier and the kiwis and kayaks at Okarito Lagoon in the South. We find the English Language School sector to be exceptionally price concious.
We enjoy the students and continue to offer activities to this sector

We offer similar activities to New Zealand schools, groups, and organizations.

Our focus is now on the Christchurch domestic market. We see Lyttelton Harbour as an under-used recreation area, and it is our aim to develop awareness of the harbour and promote kayaking as being an exciting and appropriate activity.
We see great opportunity for a Kayak business on Lyttelton Harbour.

Kayaks in Lyttelton Harbour will be our flagship activity into the future.
